5 Tips for Using Your Bread Machine

A bread machine can be a good investment for baking healthy and tasty loaves of bread. After sometime people tend to loose the instruction manual for their bread baking machine. However, there are a few tips to help you create the perfect loaf of bread each time.

Know Your Bread Machine

Take time to inspect your machine. Be familiar with how it opens, closes, the control panel and the use of the buttons. A bread machine should also have a bread pan, with the bread paddle attached to it and should also serve as the mixing bowl.

Know the Capacity of Your Bread Pan

Find your bread pan capacity by taking a measuring cup and filling the pan with water again and again until the pan is full. Ten cups of water equals 1 1/2 pound loaves of bread, twelve cups equals 2 pound loaves of bread, and less than 10 cups equals one pound loaves of bread.

Know Bread Machine Settings

This can be achieved without an instruction manual. Simply look at your control panel and be familiar with the settings, such as the Start/Stop, Crust Color, Timer and Arrow buttons.

Get the Right Ingredients

Whether you use a family recipe, an online recipe, or a recipe book, getting the right ingredients will make the difference between a good or bad loaf of bread. For any bread recipe the basic ingredients are flour, salt, sugar, various liquids and fats.

Add Ingredients in the Right Order

This last tip is of great importance. Follow the bread recipe exactly; mixing ingredients in the wrong order can ruin a loaf of bread.
