Gluten Free – Whole Wheat Bread Recipe

Gluten free baking works wonderfully in bread machines. If you are not allergic to gluten then the breads may seem unpalatable. If you are gluten intolerant, just the thought of a slice of bread at dinner may excite you beyond belief. The tricky part of baking gluten free bread is your dough. It has to have the stretch qualities of gluten dough. The quality helps to hold the dough together. As the gluten free doughs are thick, you also need a strong motor in your bread making machine.
Ingredients you will need:
1 ¼ cups of milk
4 tbsp sunflower oil
2 eggs
3 ½ cups of gluten free whole wheat flour
2 tbsp sugar
1 tsp salt
¼ once instant dry yeast – 1 package
Directions:
1. Check bread making machine manual for the manufacturer recommended mixing order.
2. Add ingredients to bread pan.
3. Select a non gluten or quick yeast setting.

4. Close Bread maker, Start.
5. Once your bread is done, allow to cool on wire rack.

There are several non diary milks that you might want to try using in your gluten free recipes. The first few that come to mind are the Nut and Soy milks. They tend to work very well in gluten free baking.
Organic light coconut milk is also a great dairy substitute that can be used in gluten-free baking. The only thing that you want to be careful of is a high guar gum content. Guar Gum is a common additive in coconut milk. It has been known to act as a laxative for sensitive individuals so just check your labels.
Finally there is hemp milk, another great choice. The only thing to remember with hemp milk is that it has a particularly strong taste. I think so anyway. Hemp milk is generally creamier and richer than most other non-dairy products (such as soy milk, nut milk or rice milks). Whatever you decide, and especially with hemp milk, it is best to shop around first for a little comparative taste testing
