Limpa – Swedish Rye Bread

Limpa, extremely popular is Sweden, is a great “traditional” rye bread.  It is a sweet bread, flavored with orange peel, molasses and anise.  The one thing that you notice most about Limpa bread is its rich and flavorful taste.  Try surprising the family with this recipe.

Ingredients you will need:
¾ cups water
1/3 cup milk
1 ¼ tbsp molasses
1 ½ tbsp brown sugar  Swedish Rye - Crumb
2 tbsp butter
1 ¾ cups bread flour
1 ¼ cups rye flour
1 tbsp gluten
½ tsp aniseed
1 ¼ tsp orange zest
½ tsp fennel seed
1 ¼  tsp salt

1. Check bread machine owner’s manual, use recommended mixing order.
2. Add all dry ingredients to bread machine bread pan.
3. Select basic cycle.   Start.
4. Once machine has completed baking, allow bread to cool on wire rack.
