Monkey Bread Recipe

Here is a great Monkey bread Recipe.  Monkey bread is a deliciously cinnamon/caramel like bread that is made up of balls of dough.  Most popularly created using a Bundt baking tin, monkey bread can be baked in any shape that appeals to you!  This recipe makes use of a bread machine to make the dough and a conventional oven to bake the bread!Monkey bread on stovetop

Ingredients you will need:
¼ cup water (100-110F)                               2 ½ tsp active dry yeast
3 ½ cups all purpose flour                            ½ tsp salt
½ tsp vanilla extract                                      3 tbsp white sugar
½ cup, melted butter                                     2 tbsp melted butter
¾ cup milk (100-110F)                                  2 cups brown sugar
1 ½ tbsp ground cinnamon                           ½ tsp ground allspice

1.   Combine the warm water and yeast; allow it to stand for 2 minutes.
2.   Add flour, salt, white sugar, vanilla extract, 2 tbsp’s of melted butter and the warm milk.
3.   Add all of your ingredients to your bread machine’s bread pan; with the exception of the brown sugar, cinnamon, allspice and cup of melted butter.
4.   Select the Dough Cycle setting on your bread machine.
5.   Once the cycle has finished, allow the dough to rise in your bread machine for 30 minutes.
6.   Lightly flour surface, place dough onto it.
7.   Flatten your dough until it is about ½ inch thick and cut off small pieces with a knife.  Each piece should form a dough ball about ½ - 1 inch thick.
8.   Lightly coat baking bundt with a non-stick cooking spray.  After rolling each ball, place into bundt pan in layers.
9.   In a mixing bowl, whisk the brown sugar, the cinnamon, the allspice and the melted butter.  Pour over dough balls in bundt pan.
10. Cover the baking pan with plastic wrap to allow the dough to rise for an hour or until double ins size.
11. Preheat oven to 350F (175C)
12. Bake bread for 30 minutes or golden brown.  Allow to cool a little then flip upside down onto a serving platter.

Tips! - Monkey Bread Recipe.
- Monkey bread is best eaten warm, so be sure to eat it soon after it comes out of the oven or reheat leftovers!

    I woule have never imagined Monkey bread would be sweet in any way. When I saw the recipe I was looking for something that was either consisted of some kind of wheat or seeds. This completely blew me away. This looks like something I could have as a snack or in the morning as a light breakfast.
