Bread Machine – Pumpernickel Bread

Pumpernickel bread, traditionally made with a coarsely ground rye flour, pumpernickel bread is a dense and somewhat sweet rye bread that is a firm favorite in deli’s and households around the world.  With its dark coloring and rich slightly sweet chocolaty flavor, pumpernickel bread is an ideal choice for toasting in the morning or as part of a lunch sandwich that is sure to please.  From toppings that could include nutella, smoked salmon and even ham, pumpernickel bread is as versatile as it is delicious!

Ingredients you will need:Sanduíche de porco
1 1/8 cups of warm water
1 ½ tbsp vegetable oil
1/3 cup of molasses
1 ½ tsp salt
1 ½ cup bread flour
1 cup of rye flour
1 cup of whole wheat flour
2 ½ tsp bread machine yeast

1.  Sift dry ingredients into large bowl until well blended.
2.  Place your dry ingredients into bread machine’s bread pan.
3.  Add the remaining ingredients to the bread pan.
4.  Select the Basic Cycle setting on bread machine.  Start.
5.  Once bread machine is done, allow pumpernickel bread to cool by placing on wire rack.

- Consider the addition of sesame, caraway or sunflower seeds to the top of bread once the baking cycle had started on your bread machine!
- Pumpernickel bread is an excellent addition to a homemade Reuben sandwich!
- For a delicious and unique appetizer for your next picnic or even a dinner party, consider turning your pumpernickel loaf into a dip bread bowl and filling it with a homemade veggie and sour cream dip that is sure to please!

    I like making different types 0f bread, so Pumpernickel is the one that I would be interesting in making. The ingredients are simple, directions are easy and it doesn’t require a lot of time. I think this is an excellent recipe.
