Roman Bread Recipe
Bread baking has flourished since 300BC. The Romans enjoyed many types of breads. There were round loaves containing emmer, oyster breads, hurry breads and flat breads just to name a few. Today’s recipe, 1 ½ pound of Roman Bread.
Ingredients you will need: 
3 cups bread flour
1 cup water
1/3 cup of chopped onions
1 ½ tsp salt
1 tbsp sugar
2 ½ tsps bread machine yeast
3 tbsp olive oil
1 ½ tbsps rosemary and sea salt

Directions:
1. Always check your bread machine’s manual for recommended mixing order.
2. Add dry ingredients and onion into bread pan.
3. Add liquid ingredients into bread machine bread pan.
3. Select dough setting. Start.
4. Prepare a rectangular baking sheet using olive oil.
5. Once machine completes dough cycle remove and place on sheet.
6. Flatten dough to 1 inch thick using rolling pin
7. Let rise until doubled in size or 35 minutes. Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
8. Slice top of dough in tic tack toe patterns about ¼ inch deep
9. Brush on olive oil.
10. Bake for 25 minutes, sprinkle with salt.
Tips:
Cut into squares and serve at room temperature for best taste.
Bread machine yeast is used in this recipe. It is a special strain of yeast that will make your dough rise faster than active dry yeast.
