Sourdough – San Francisco Style

Have you ever had a great piece of San Francisco sourdough bread?  It is the kind of bread that is incredible on the palette.  San Francisco sourdough bread is simply bread produced with starter unique to San Francisco.  Now despite what you are thinking, it does not have to be produced in San Francisco.  Starter can be shipped anywhere in the world.

San Francisco is just one example of a region which has become famous for their sourdoughs’ performance and flavor.  San Francisco’s famous starter contains several special yeasts such as Candida humilis, One yeast and Lactobacillus bacterium. In terms of bakeries, the best of San Francisco sourdough include: Boudin Bakery, Colombo, Toscano and Parisian.
